Last Friday I sent out a text asking for prayer for our time with the St. Helena High School Football Team.
God Answers Prayer!!! -- Thank you for praying!
These Six young men gave their lives to the Lord this past weekend !!!
PHOTOS from the Team-Building Camp
Taylor Mims and Brie Winery help set up for supper. I bless the Lord for these young ladies as they were a tremendous help in making this weekend a success.
Gustav LeRoux, my friend from South Africa and a former strong man competitor and professional arm wrestler, takes on some of the guys just before he spoke to them on Friday night.
Walter Allen, the FCA director from Ruston La., begins the team building initiatives that were so crucial in making the weekend such a success.
Surprise guest speaker Joe Horn, former NFL and New Orleans Saints stand-out-all-pro receiver, spoke to the team on Saturday night. He did a great job connecting with these young men!!!
Head Coach Brandon Brown - Pray for Coach Brown
In just his second year as head football coach at St Helena High School, Coach Brown has had to overcome some major obstacles in turning around this much maligned football program. When asked if he thought the weekend was a success he said, "It was worth everything just to have those six young men give their lives to Christ."
In other news, at Southeastern Louisiana University:
Former Southeastern All-American Quarterback Don Griffin Speaks to the entire SLU football team (approximately 130 athletes and coaches) on Sunday Morning.
After Don spoke I gave a brief invitation out of Hebrews 4:16, "Let us then fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace (the throne of God's unmerited favor to us sinners), that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find grace to help in good time for every need [appropriate help and well-timed help, coming just when we need it].
Over twenty young men came forward for personal ministry and prayer.
Special Thanks to the BCM directer Matt Middlecamp for letting us use the BCM Chapel and providing over 20 dozen donuts and 5 gallons of milk.
